What is the GenussCard and how does it "work"?
The GenussCard is an inclusive card - you can use over 240 excursion destinations free of charge. You will receive the GenussCard from your host upon check-in on the day of arrival.
Where can I get my GenussCard?
Stay for just 1 night with any of more than 160 GenussCard hosts (hotels, inns, private apartments, youth hostels and family guest houses) in eastern Styria, the region of thermal spas and ancient volcanoes or southern and western Styria and you will receive your GenussCard.
When is the GenussCard valid?
The card is valid for the duration of your stay (incl. day of arrival and departure) between 1 March and 31 October 2021. Please be sure to note the current opening hours of the excursion destinations. You can find them at www.genusscard.at.
Which places can I visit for free with the GenussCard?
Altogether there are over 240 places, in the categories Watery Fun, Sport & Leisure, Nature & Gardens, Food and Drink, Museums & Exhibitions and Adventure Drives. For example, the Food and Drink category includes the demonstration dairy run by the sheep farmers of Weiz, where visitors can go on an interesting tour to learn the secrets of how the milk is processed, and enjoy trying various sheep milk specialities in the tasting room. For stunning views and shining eyes all round, try a ride in the tethered balloon at the JUFA Hotel Stubenbergsee or go to see Franz Gsellmann’s “world machine”.
Sporty activities include bike hire from the Teuschler-Mogg Hotel in Bad Waltersdorf, visiting the Cria Valley alpacas in Riegersburg and stand-up paddle-boarding on Lake Stubenberg. Culinary delights are provided by, among others, the Kürbishof Koller pumpkin farm in Fehring, the aronia berry producer Köck in St. Ruprecht/Raab, the sparkling wine producer Harkamp in Leibnitz and the Friedrich Schilcher winery in St. Stefan ob Stainz.
From a minimum stay of three nights, you can visit the six partner thermal spas in the region of thermal spas and ancient volcanoes or southern and western Styria in addition to the services of the GenussCard!
With the GenussCard you receive a one-time 24-hour ticket for the museums of the Universalmuseum Joanneum for stays of 3 nights or more.
Where is all the important information summarised or how can I find information on the way?
You can find a list of over 240 destinations, their exact services and when they can be visited as well as contact details here at www.genusscard.at and in the information brochure, which we will be happy to send you free of charge (unfortunately only available in german!).
You will also receive the information brochure with all excursion destinations from your host upon arrival.
Do children receive a GenussCard?
Children over the age of 6 are given a GenussCard. Children under 6 accompanied by their parents are, of course, our guests.
Who can help me with questions about the GenussCard?
Your GenussCard host and the local tourism association.
What is the difference between the "Steiermark Card" and the GenussCard?
The "Steiermark Card" is a purchase card (costs € 75.00 per adult) for the excursion guest, the GenussCard is an inclusive card for the overnight guest in Styria.
All inclusive services are limited in their usability at one time per stay. Exception: natural swimming lakes, indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
From a minimum stay of three nights, you can visit the six partner thermal spas in Styria, the thermal spa and volcano region, and in southern and western Styria, in addition to the benefits of the GenussCard!
Bonus partners: Upon presentation of your GenussCard, you can receive discounts from three bonus partners in Styria.
Is the GenussCard also available in digital form?
The popular card with the most inclusive services in Austria is now also available free of charge as an app.
Especially on the day of arrival you will benefit from the GenussCard on your smartphone, as you can already use all services before check-in at your accommodation. In the app you can not only manage your own digital GenussCard on your smartphone, but also collect and use several cards, e.g. those of your family or a travel group.
How can I use the new GenussCard app?
The new GenussCard app is available for Android devices in the Google Play Store as well as for iPhones in the Apple Store.
You get your access by inviting your GenussCard host by e-mail or by scanning your GenussCard (cardboard/plastic card), which you have already received from your host.
After successful registration, all the benefits of the GenussCard are also available to you via smartphone. We make every effort to ensure that it can be used everywhere without any problems. Nevertheless, it is possible that there may be disruptions in some places. Therefore, please also always keep your card (cardboard/plastic card) so that you always benefit from all the advantages of the GenussCard.
