The Rauch family focuses on down-to-earthness in all aspects of life. This includes farming close to nature and a focus on traditional values such as family, hard work and human cooperation. The Rauch family has a long love affair with viticulture. Grandfather Alois planted the first vines, son Günther continued his father’s work with a new quality philosophy and his son Johannes laid the foundations for a successful future as winemaker and cellar master.

The location of the winery at 360m above sea level, on the south-eastern Styrian hill country wine route, on the picturesque Perbersdorfberg near St. Peter am Ottersbach, enables viticulture of the highest quality. The surrounding vineyards reflect the natural originality of the region.

The first shoots venture out into the sometimes still inhospitable fresh air in spring, tender and vulnerable, thus taking the first step towards the creation of a unique and globally appreciated joint product of nature and man: wine. The Rauchs support this development with the strength and knowledge of three generations of winegrowers.

In the Rauch family’s cellar, top varietal wines such as the classic Welschriesling, the nutty Pinot Blanc, the full-bodied Chardonnay, the powerful Sauvignon Blanc and the fragrant Sämling 88 mature. As a special taste experience, Weinhof Rauch presents the animus – the animating one: a Muscat – Pinot Blanc – Sauvignon Blanc cuvée. The range of red wines includes the powerful Blauer Zweigelt, the Cuvée Il Unico – a Zweigelt-Blauburger cuvée and the Vino Vitalis, a wine made from the Blauburger grape variety.
