Vorau Augustine Monastery

14 April to 31 October, Mon-Fri 10 am, 2 pm and 4 pm, Sat 10 am - afternoon upon request, Sun and public holidays 11 am, 2 pm and 4 pm; groups of 15 or more must book in advance.

The guided tour includes: history, the church, vestry and library. The abbey church in Vorau is one of Styria’s grandest on account of the wealth of frescoes that adorn its interior. The Vorau Augustine Monastery was founded in 1163 as a centre for prayer, pastoral work, education and culture. The world-famous library, high-baroque abbey church and vestry are of great cultural significance.
