Museum Stainz Castle

The Museum of Agriculture at Stainz Castle showcases the diversity of farming life in Styria. The focus here is entirely on agricultural production – with a view to the past, present and future. The central themes are nutrition and a collection of old agricultural machinery and equipment. You can also find out more about Archduke Johann's revolutionary ideas for agriculture.
Archduke Johann, whose heirs continue to run Stainz Castle today, was not only a patron of Styrian agriculture, but also a passionate hunter. At the Hunting Museum Schloss Stainz, you can go hunting and follow the millennia-old traces of hunting – from the struggle for survival in the Stone Age to the ecological and economic interests of the present day. On two floors, you will get to know the multifaceted history of the interaction between man and nature. Historical weapons and tools, magnificent works of art and much more await you. You can also immerse yourself in the world of wild animals on your foray.
